Transjam is a recurrent event at MJM, designed to provide a safe space to make music for transpersons and their allies. Bring an instrument, a song or two (covers and/or originals), and your fellow trans musicians/friends. This event is pay-what-you-will but it is registration-based for the safety of its participants.

Purple Sandwich Presents:

“Bandaoke,” or Live Band Karaoke, is a semi-regular event that the Purple Sandwich Band has been hosting for the past couple of years, and now they’re bringing it to Mister John’s Music! The band is prepared to be your live backing band while you sing some of your favorite karaoke songs. Dante (guitar, piano), Bryan (bass, guitar), and Brooks (drums) have learned HUNDREDS of cover songs from a variety of artists and are always open to new song requests.
This month’s theme is Top 40!

Dunia Best & Aram Sinnreich’s musical partnership spans decades and genres, from Dunia’s germinal ska punk band Agent 99 to their reggae soul project Dubistry & pioneering neo-soul group Brave New Girl. Along the way, they’ve played together with Grammy winners and luminaries. Their newest project is this indie soul and acoustic ska duo with elements of jazz, punk, and reggae. Their debut album BEDFELLOWS was released by GMO the Label in 2022.
