MJM Covid Procedures

Covid Liability Waiver and Indemnification:

By purchasing a Mister John’s Music class, all registrants are agreeing that participation in the aforementioned is voluntary, assume the risk associated with exposure to Covid-19 by participation in a public gathering, and agree to waive any and all liability against Mister John’s Music and any Hosting Location, and any of the the owners, officers, directors, managers, officials, trustees, agents, and employees, or other representatives of such entities for exposure to Covid-19, as fully described in an foregoing Waiver of Liability and Indemnification statement.

    Capacity:

As per national and local guidelines, we are now allowed to resume services indoors, with masks and distancing of 3 feet between households. For Summer Session, we will be offering outdoor classes with the caveat that if the temperature exceeds 85 degrees Fahrenheit, the teacher may choose to have the class INDOORS.  Two caregivers may now attend per enrolled child. It is strongly recommended that they be the same caregivers throughout the duration of the session if at all possible.  People who are at high-risk for Covid-19 are advised not to attend class.

    Pods:

Each class is its own distinct pod.  The day of the week is not a pod.  The teacher is NOT part of the pod due to absolute adherence to the strictest preventative and transmission guidelines.

    Health Pre-Screenings:

Caregivers are required to pre-screen themselves and their children before coming to class.

    1. Do you, your child, or anyone in your household have either cough or shortness of breath? If YES to either, do not come to class.

    2. Do you, your child, or anyone in your household have any of the following? Fever, sore throat, chills, muscle pain, headache, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, congestion/runny nose, new loss of taste or smell. If YES to 2 or more, do not come to class.

    3. Have you, your child, or anyone in your household been exposed to anyone with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days? If YES, do not come to class.  Please contact your medical provider to discuss the best course of action for your family.

    Mask-wearing:

Our teachers have ALL been vaccinated and may choose to wear masks at their discretion in order to best perform their job duties.  Children 5 years and older should be encouraged to wear a facemask.  In ECE classes, mask-wearing may be more challenging for younger children and enforcement of this policy is at the discretion of the attending caregiver.  For all INDOORS classes, masks are required for all adults and children over the age of 5.  For OUTDOORS Early Childhood classes, all adults are required to wear a face-mask, due to the fact that we know that our little ones have not received vaccinations as of yet.  For OUTDOORS Kids classes, all attendees must wear masks UNLESS the teacher can ensure significant social-distancing guidelines (more than 3 feet between children).  For OUTDOOR Adult classes, mask-wearing is optional.

    Hand Hygiene:

Hand sanitizer use is highly encouraged by all participants.

    Physical-Distancing Guidelines:

For ECE classes, bring a blanket/ground cover to establish your area in the space.  Please observe all current national/local social-distancing guidelines (keeping a 6-feet distance between families, avoid hugging/handshaking, no food/drink, etc.)  Caregivers are responsible for corralling their child(ren) to ensure that they remain in their designated area as best as possible.  We are depending on our caregivers to be patient, respectful, intuitive and communicative to ensure the comfort and safety of all participants.

    Props:

Mister John’s Music will be sharing props/instruments.  Please refrain from sharing toys/props with other attendees.  If you wish to bring your own, a list of links to affordable, frequently-used classroom props is available for you below.  We will regularly have songs/activities that use shakers, drums, castanets, and xylophones.  Extra items that might be nice to bring with you include scarves, balls, finger puppets, rainsticks, and toy ukes/guitars.

    Make-ups:

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, Mister John’s Music is not offering make-ups for missed ECE classes, in order reduce potential exposure between pods.

    Refunds:

Once a session begins, there are no tuition refunds.  Many classes sell-out and have waitlists.  In signing up for a session, parents understand that they are securing this slot for their child whether or not they end up attending.  This is a standard policy for all families who enroll.  However, if you’re unable to attend and would like to transfer the registration to a friend for the duration of your. session, just email Mister John.

    Exposure Procedures:
